13. Ephesians 4:29

“Let no corrupting talk come your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.” Ephesians 4:29

Lord, help us to build one another up. Let no corrupt talk come our mouths, but only what is useful for building up our spouse. May my words be grace to my spouse.

14. Ephesians 5:21-30

“Submit to one another  reverence for Christ. Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior.

Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.

In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church— for we are members of his body.”Ephesians 5:21-30

Lord, may we joyfully submit to one another reverence for Christ. May we love Jesus.

15. Ephesians 6:12

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12

Lord, when we come to places of disagreement, as all marriages encounter, remind us that our enemy is not flesh and blood. Our enemy is not our spouse. We wrestle against the rulers and principalities of evil. Grow us in unity and together in Christ.

16. Philippians 2:3-7

“Do nothing selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human ness.” Philippians 2:3-7

Lord, help us to not do anything selfish ambition. Give us humble hearts toward one another, not looking to our own interests, but to the interests of our spouse. Give us the mind of Christ.

17. Colossians 3:13-14

“For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” Colossians 3:13-14

Lord, may we never forget that YOU rescued US from the dominion of darkness. May we show that same forgiveness to our spouse!

18. Hebrews 10:23

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.” Hebrews 10:23

Lord, help us to remember that our only hope is in You. Christ alone. Remind our hearts that everyone around us is human and will let us down, but that we must place our faith and hope in You. Your promises are true and You are faithful God.

19. James 4:8

“Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” James 4:8

Lord, help us to draw near to You as individuals and as a couple. Help us to come to you daily for confession and cleansing, purify our hearts, Lord.

20. James 5:16

“Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.” James 5:16

God, help us to be faithful to confess our sins to one another and pray for one another regularly. Remind us of the power of our prayers.
